A guide to finding care in Seattle

Seattle peptide clinics,
in plain words.

Peptides are short strings of the same tiny parts that make proteins, like beads linked together. This guide helps you check the medicine’s name, who can prescribe it, and the full cost.

First, what does “peptide” mean?

“Peptide” tells you about a substance’s makeup; it does not name the condition it treats.

The name alone does not tell us whether a product is safe or allowed.

So the useful next question is: which product are we talking about?

A label saying “research use only” means the product is meant for studies, not for a patient to take.

The name is only the beginning

Different products, different rules

Finished drug

A medicine with approval

In the US, medicine review is part of the Food and Drug Administration’s work; its short name is FDA.

Ozempic and Wegovy are brand names for semaglutide; Mounjaro and Zepbound are brand names for tirzepatide. As of September 2026, both medicines have FDA approval for specific uses. Ozempic and Mounjaro treat type 2 diabetes. Wegovy and Zepbound help people lose weight and keep it off.

FDA approval covers a named use after the agency reviews evidence of benefit and harm.

These are examples of approved uses; each medicine’s label gives the full details.

Made to order

A medicine made to order

To compound a medicine is to make or change it for a patient’s need instead of supplying a ready-made drug.

As of September 2026, a compounded medicine is not FDA-approved, even when it is made lawfully.

Before it reaches patients, the FDA has not checked the compounded product’s quality, harms, or benefit.

Research label

A label that needs a closer look

As of September 2026, Washington’s Pharmacy Commission says ingredients marked “research use only” cannot go into medicines made to order for patients.

A research label is a reason to ask what the product actually is and why it is being offered for care.

A room or a screen in Seattle?

In-person care means meeting the person assessing you at a clinic.

A clinician is the health worker who assesses and treats you.

Telehealth can use video or phone for care. Another form uses an online system so the health worker can review your information later.

As of September 2026, Washington law treats online care as happening where the patient is located.

A visit from Seattle therefore comes under Washington rules.

Ask whether the person can treat patients in Washington and how you will ask questions after the visit.
